You know what? In spite of its flaws, I think Pokemon the First Movie is really solid for what it's worth.

I honestly think Mewtwo is one of the more interesting and complex characters to come out of this franchise. Meowth's comment about looking at what's the same instead of what's different is also pretty powerful in my opinion. Now, I can deride this movie on a few other fronts. The ending's pretty bullshit and the "fighting is wrong" moral thrown into the 4Kids dub can die in a fire.

But the good is too good for the bad to relegate it. Underneath the ploy to sell more games lies something wise and true. But who am I to say this, I'm just an anonymous poster on an anime image board. But maybe... just maybe.
