Here's something to ponder, /vp/....
If all fully-evolved Pokémon got Mega Evolutions... how would that change the meta for the better at all? I mean, a Mega Salamence by default is still going to be better than a Mega Delcatty. By virtue of only allowing 100 points added to BSTs, Pokémon with lower stats to begin with will inherently always be at a disadvantage. And in a world where every Pokémon can Mega, why would you ever choose, say, a Mega Beedrill or a Mega Glalie when you can have a Mega Lopunny or Mega Lucario on your team?
As they say, if you make everyone special, then no one is special anymore.
