Because what it represents to me. I loved Chikorita when I was a child, when I was 11 I got extremely happy when I got a Chikorita tazo.
Now that I'm 23, its simple design represents being mature, but not forgetting the child I was. Being mature and responsible in my decisions, and enjoying the life as a child, a magic that one should never lose.
That's the reason I chose a plant-type too. It symbolizes connection. Connection with your roots. Connection with whatever gives meaning to your life, but with the particularity of being in motion.
