So what do you think Game Freak can do with Amiibos? Pikachu, Greninja, Charizard, Jigglypuff and presumably Mewtwo will all be getting amiibos at some point in the next year or two.
We know that they've tried using NFC figures before with the Rumble figures (and those didn't sell well initially, but are extremely collectable and pricey on the aftermarket) and we know that these 5 Pokemon will presumably unlock something on future Nintendo games (something simple like a minigame, or a costume or some shit)

Future amiibo that are specific to a Pokemon game could allow you to write and save data to it, something that the Smash amiibos are doing (ie, you can save a profile to it for your character, but in another game, you can't save a non-Smash profile to it) meaning that to stay relevant, Game Freak will need to do something with them.

I think there's tons of different things they can do with them. It'd be cool to have unlockable Pokemon (not in the sense of "buy a figure to get Diancie!" but "here's a special Cherish Ball Charizard, etc). Since the figures can be used in a portal thing for 3DS/right on the new 3DS as well as Wii U, they could do things to bridge the gap between the two consoles in other games like Mystery Dungeon or something.

So in your ideal world, what do you want Game Freak to do with amiibos?
