Lets pretend that Gen V never happened. We just went directly from Gen IV to Gen VI. None of the pokemon, abilities, or moves from Gen V exist, any changes from IV to V never happened, (no reusable TMs, ??? type still exists, poison still hurts outside of battle, no hidden abilities, etc.) and Gen VI didn't change those things either.

How different would the series be?

XY would look better, since the last generation wasn't AS superior.

Don't get me wrong, gen 4 is still notably superior to gen 6, but gen 5 was REALLY superior.
