I hope this event gets scrapped. Impossible though it may be. This is one of the few things that turns me from a grown-ass man into a raging autist. You plan to elaborate on that? Wouldn't it still be possible to hatch a shiny beldum? Or even catch one? What are you referring to when you say "shiny locking"?

I mean, I'm aware of the fact that the legendary mascots have been shiny-locked since Gen 5, but does that apply here?

I already have a 5IV shiny beldum. The second one I can grab the metagrossite, and just trade off to friends or keep it anyway because shinies are precious treasures and should be loved

Recent legendaries have been shiny-locked, meaning it's impossible to get them shiny in-game. Mostly due to the fact that Gamefreak didn't like that people were soft resetting on their cover legendaries for shiny variants for some reason.

Do I fly through ORAS having trouble with an OP Beldum that I can still play with in competitive, or play with the freebie to stay fair then switch when its time for post game?

but, to inject some personal experience/opinion into the conversation, I've already played through R/S/E hundreds of times now. I love the games, but with how much I've played the story and how easy the story usually is, I figure I may as well have a bit of fun with it.

Already have a shiny Metagross...with both shit IVs and Nature. Likely I'll soft reset the event until I at least get a good nature, save it in my box, and then do a giveaway for the old one, to whoever collects shinies I guess.

It just seems so out-of-place to me. The gold X on the regular Mega is nice since it adds a splash of color, but the blue against the white and gold just stands out way too much to me.
