Trading should be like a card game.
Look at everything they have and mark all the stuff you want.
Obviously being able to set stuff as not for trade would be a must so kids dont just select every shiny and eventmon you have.

That sounds nice, but then you have people like me with 18+ boxes of competative ready mons so having to wait for them would take a while. Although you could place a limit on how many things you can select at one time to stop that.

I never trade with passerby because it is set up in a shitty way where there isn't any form of communication except having pokemon nicknamed certain phrases. Also if you want to get out you have to wait for them and there isn't a message saying that the other party is trying to leave so you just sit there until you hit your wireless switch off.
