Pokemon romhacks: Worth playing or not?

I just started Dark Rising and patched Glazed and Light Platinum

Am I wasting my time?
Are there better games (besides the official ones) to be playing?
Are they any hard?
Any advice for playing these?

A few really great ones, but most are really awful. I recall Light Platinum's plot being a complete nonsensical clusterfuck, and it has a pointless second island/gym system in which all the pokemon are at least 20 levels below you.

Having played both i can tell you that Light Platinum is utter shit, the only reason it got so much attention was because the creator is a girl and, surprise surprise, she had a lot of whiteknighting beta faggots.

Glazed is only slightly better in terms of plot, but is shitloads more playable.

There's a rom hack general that's kind of active and has a thread right now with a bunch of pastebins of roms that are marginally acceptable. In relation to your question, I've heard Light Platinum is so bad, it's kinda funny, though. Glaze's plot is shit, but ignoring that, it's okay.

Did you guys forget the Ruby Destiny series? I loved Pokemon Ruby Destiny Life of Guardians by destinedjagold.
The other games of destinedjagold are pretty good too, but LoG was my favourite.
