First? If it's overpowered or underpowered.

All pokémon should have a chance to be useful; it's bullshit how shitmons are churned out with each instalment, with only a handful of useful or competitively viable mons alongside. The worst part is, this is accepted whole-heartedly and not challenged at all.

Aurorus is an unfortunate victim of this bullshit behaviour. Extremely likable pokémon, but completely terrible setup between typing, stats and movepool. It might just be a bigger pile of shit than Sunflora. For what purpose must these catastrophes continue to occur?

Depends.
For example, I can hate Wingull in RSE for how often it appears, compared to how little experience it gives, or Graveler in XY where it survives a hit with Sturdy just to Self-destruct.

I can also hate a Pokemon depending on how it is used (see Gliscor and Slowbro), it isn't the pokemon's fault as much as it is the people using it (and I guess myself, to an extent) being faggots, so there's that.

Last, I can hate a pokemon for how "viral" it is, like Lopunny, Gardevoir or Goodra

I can't really hate a pokemon on its looks, I may think it looks stupid/edgy/ugly/etc. but I just see them as that

Design comes first: I can't like ugly Pokemon. Conkeldurr, Heatran and Ferrothorn are the best examples of this.
Annoyingness: my neutrality for Togekiss turned into dislike when I started facing them online.
And finally, if they outclass one of my favourite Pokémon, but have a worse design. Conkeldurr again springs to mind, for doing everything Hariyama can do short of Fake Out, and being able to do it better.
