Well those charts of how well preorders are going relative to x and y were going around from the nintendo investor meeting, america's sales are near-identical to x and y so far.. Japan's are down by the tiniest amount, and Europe's have seen a net increase by a more meanngful percent. Looks like it'll do pretty close to x and y.

A lot of people on /vp/ might be claiming to cancel their pre-orders and shit like that, but if they were a large enough demographic to make a dent in sales, we'd see it in those numbers.

Looks like once again the internet is overflowing with meaningless anger and mental illness.

The only reason you do not see eternal threads for the problems with XY is because everyone is acutely aware of the major fucking problems. After a few weeks, those that did not play pokemon for 999 hours in the first few months got bored and switched to the next game.

This game is going to sell well regardless, this game is going to review well. That does not mean it is going to be good, that does not mean /vp/ won't be frothing at the mouth to replace it with whatever game comes out in 2015. Years from now it will be looked back on as the shitty cash grab it is rather than a loving remake like FRLG or HGSS, because Gamefreak did not even take the time to understand the hardware enough to make a 3D engine that doesn't run like shit. No one will go back and replay it, or X and Y, because like DP they will be remembered as beta tests for games that were actually competent.

It had unusable cross gen evos, that unbearable speed overall, a story too grandiose even for pokemon, no postgame in comparison to the previous game, that tweaking glitch, if I remember right they didn't even fix the pomeg one either, terribly easy contests, I could go on.

No matter how you look at it they were one of the worst entries to the series but they're given a get out of jail free card from Sinnoh fans because they added the physical/special split.

You're predisposed to not liking the game, I'm not going to argue with you about it, I enjoyed playing through johto with some of the gen 4 mechanics, the smoothness, the cool minigames that evoked Pokemon stadium for me, a harder battle with Red, and hey, online and wireless capability. I enjoyed the way they weaved in the Suicune arc so you were able to enjoy it as well as the story presented about the cover legendary. Pokewalker was okay, I had a bit of unluck and destroyed mine in the washing machine, but when I look back to 2010 me, he was pleased with SS, I feel in my heart it was a game made with love.

When has a first installment in a gen ever had a good post game?

RB had one cave and Mewtwo, GS had the best for a first installment in a gen but it was also designed more like BW2, RS had the battle tower and contests, DP had the sane thing, BW had half the region with a sudden difficulty spike, abd XY was pretty barren too

Didn't Nintendo already predict ORAS was going to outsell X and Y?
In the reviews, the reviewers didn't really care about customization, so I don't really so the lack of it affecting ORAS's score.
On the other hand, ORAS brought some great new developments to the series (i/e flying in the sky) and has a gigantic post game. It also fixed R/S/E's rivals, giving them fully evolved starters and buffing them, too.

I predict 90+.

RS didn't have horrid teams, but Emerald's still improved them a bit. If this is a pattern, then DP remakes... I mean fuck Flint wasn't even able to have a completely fire type only team

Gamefreak didnt really make an effort to change the negatives of the original which was far from flawness when released more than 10 years ago. Its a good game for sure and Pokemon fans should be pleased with this remake. Gamers looking for a challenging RPG should probably look further.

Not bad, just not so high. HG/SS got about 85 and were a pretty solid game
