it's true but only because new engine and it was only absent from 1 gen. we'll probably get clothes back at gen7/8

i don't know about others, but i liked it because it added emphasis to online play and connecting with others to make a worldly experience. it actually seemed like a pokemon -world-, with actual people that are different to each other. because of this, kalos ironically felt the most natural pokemon game.
