Pinsir gains robotic traits too. It basically gets a jetpack and jet wing arms. My guess is they're both inspired by the whole robotic beetle motif in things like Kamen rider, which is pretty neat and a good way to make them seem even more related to eachother

From what I recall, someone pointed out that there were 70's anime design cues on the Musketeer trio, which was assumed to be because of the 3 Musketeers anime.

There were quite a bit of artwork on Pixiv and even Pokesho that had them alongside the 3 Musketeers anime characters.

I mean even Keldeo looks like it has the kind of face and limbs that you see in Osamu Tezuka artwork.

funny enough that some of them didn't even have those eyes at first, when you consider the beta artwork - which resemble the original gen 1 sprites more than the official art.

Like Pidgey and Blastoise - the former had round bird eyes and the latter had fully drawn out eye outlines.

Pretty good. Fingers make it look too much like Trevenant though in my opinion. I love the concept of it finally becoming what it's pretending to be in its final form. I feel like if Sudo did get a mega, it'd be like Megamom and have a unique ability. Maybe something like making all rock moves dual typed to do grass damage as well, since we already have the mechanics in game to support such an ability anyway.
