If you want to do it manually (assuming win7), go to start>searchbar>type %appdata%>enter
That should take you to "roaming" which contains ".minecraft"
From there open the "mods" folder. Every time you download a mod from the links (just google from the list of mods to find the right version) drag it into the mods folder. They should come as .jar files, sometimes .zip. If you're not sure if a mod works, boot MC every time you add a new mod to check for fuckups

TF allows someone who wants to battle both themselves and with their pokemon to do just that, the creative mods allows people who want to build and battle to do just that. you could even do all 3 if you choose.
