>>21610674The pokemon world takes inspiration from geography in our world but doesn't match up in the location and how these places link together, consider the following:
1) The pokemon world is smaller than our planet and takes longer to orbit the sun of their solar system, despite being about the same distance from the sun as the Earth. So if the geography CAN NOT be the exact same as on Earth.
2) Try putting the first 4 regions on a map of Japan without rotating anything. You can't. Again this means that things must be organised differently.
According to the official maps Kalos is directly north of Unova (not just the rivers but the mountain ranges, forests and even the clouds they've drawn on all link up seamlessly) the only place in the games they have done this before is between Kanto and Johto and there was a physical link between the 2 regions in a game. On that basis GF are either planning something along those lines for the future or leaving it open as a possibility.
