The wings in B/W

Ok, so it's been years since I've played pokemon and I'm trying to go through all the new games, I'm now at black and white and I find these wing items. According to bulbapedia their a little weaker then vitamins but don't have a 100 EV cap. Am I missing something because this item sounds broken?

100 ev cap is just what the vitamins go up to, it's not the actual ev cap for a stat. that's 252, functionally. wings don't bypass that.

Cap or not, you'd need a fucking lot of them. It's just not efficient to use them.

Vitamins (Carbos, Calcium, Protein, etc.) cap their usage at 100 EVs in a particular stat, giving 10 EVs per usage. Wings, however, are able to bypass this limit and go straight for 252/255 in one stat, but only grant 1 EV per use. Wings are really difficult to find in large numbers and keep EV training from being too easy, I suppose.

Wings cap at 252, which is the farthest you can go in any one stat. You can also spread out your EVs more evenly in all stats, just as long as the total amount of EVs in ALL stats doesn't go over 510, I believe.

to clarify, you can only find wings on bridges.
you will occasionally see a shadow and hear a flap.
In addition to the 6 wings which boost their respective stat,
you can also find pretty wings and run into pokemon like swanna.
pretty wings are pretty useless, and you'll have to run away from wild pokemon.
it should be much quicker to slap on a power item and start
grinding.

A lot of people use devices such as PowerSaves to max out the number of Wing items in their Medicine Inventory, which makes EV Training a breeze for them.

Wing are actually better as salable items, you can find plenty of them on a relatively short time and sell for 1500P each (except the pretty wing, that shit's useless)

I think that in gens before VI, the stat cap for EVs was 255 you had 4 useless EVs, making most people stop at 252.

Ok thank you, but now after learning about these wings I must know one more thing. Did Iris just get ripped off in this picture? They don't seam like a great prize to give out, especially with one pretty wing.

Oh. Well a lot of people use the whole "252,252,4" EV build, since 4 EVs= 1 star point. And putting 4 EVs into HP can offset the damage from Stealth Rock, which Pokemon with quadruple weaknesses to Rock are most likely going to need. But I see what you mean, since 1 stat point won't be doing much other than that lol

False. Am a powersaver here, I'd rather hack myself cap BP points, snag 5x of each Power items, and use the virus+horde method. Just using the wings one at a time will end up much more tedious and time-consuming than horde training.
