Fuck you guys, FRLG were great. It felt amazing discovering the new shit like Sevii Islands in the game. It felt really expanded, all that was missing was more gyms

Oh, we know that. We just dislike HGSS because of voltorb flip, the evolution bullshit, and the entire levelling curve of the game was fucked.

But you can run by pressing a button just once on the touchpad, so all these flaws are irrelevant.

I'm halfway through a rom of leaf green now and pretty sure I've caught enough, but now don't know if the effort of beating the game again is worth it

Maybe from Gen 1, since there was fuck all content back then. Comparing to RS, there was actually less content. No contests, no fucking battle tower, no berry growing, and basically nothing in their place except grafix, handholding and the wireless adapter shit, and e-reader shit that was dummied out outside Japan.
It's the only mid-generation game that actually has less content than the first pair of that generation.
