After a long period of growth, the parasite needs a bigger shell to support their constantly expanding body, so their force to move out of the puddles and search for parts of other dead crustaceans, including organs such as the brain, gathering everything together in one single body shell. This phase is called the "Metang" phase.
The next phase of evolution is called "Metagross" (meta= metamorphoses / gross= grotesque). By now, this creature's capability of adaptation reached its peak. Its original body can now sustain more than just dead parts and leftovers, and starts to become a full, complete body. Using what was once a dead organ, the host starts to overdeveloped the brain, projecting its abilities, such as hallucinations and nausea, as a weapon towards potential predators.
