I think its great. Dragon/fairy is a great subtype and it makes a semi-viable pokemon more use. Those two should be used to make every terriblemon more usable

i didn't mean counter as in "xzard counters altaria", but as a measure to not get walled by it. the problem with it is that is a terrible move to have in every other scenario, but that's another issue

It doesn't counter it as completely as you think if you aren't running a physically defensive set.

If megazard has pebbles up, boosts on the switch, and is smart enough to boost again it wins. Altaria can't OHKO at +0, and if it boosts instead of Returns it's still outsped and killed.

Mega Altaria attracts Status moves like a magnet, to the point where running Facade is a viable option.
If Xzard Burns it on the switch, you could easily end up with this shit:

Though Draco Meteor will still win the 2HKO regardless since WoW Bulkyzard can't do much other than the burn.
