Is Hex Gengar viable?

Does it gain any significant KO's over Shadow Ball, assuming 130 BP. Thinking of making a Toxic Spikes team

Sounds pretty good. I've also toyed with using Hypnosis and Dream Eater or Nightmare on top of Hex, I can't help but wonder if it could be used to gently fuck someone over.

Gengar with dual 130 stabs would be a nightmare to face late game if you don't have a healer

Hex works with Burn/Par/Slp/Psn

Venoshock only works with Poison

It does.
It doesn't double in power if the opponent is burned or asleep however.

You're going to hurt stuff with it, but you're easily walled

65BP Hex isn't going to hurt that much and will be free setup bait for Charizard and Talonflame

It sounds like an annoying set but it looks fairly easy to play around

But that set is ass with mono ghost coverage.

Sub disable and 4 attacks are tons better, especially with gengars amazing coverage

Hex is pretty good for dealing with Gliscor, but other than that Shadow Ball is more reliable and it's not like anything can safely switch in anyway bar Mandibuzz.

You'd probably want to use it with Will-O-Wisp and Sub for a tankier Gengar similar to the Disable one. 4th move could be another coverage move I guess, maybe Focus Blast.

I run Hex/SludgeBomb/Disable/Sub. In a team built around spreading status and residual damage like candy. It is extremely irritating late game. Dead cleric or giving this guy a free sub due to a misplay, or both, is usually GG. Oh, WoW or Toxic over Disable is also entirely viable, so use that if you prefer inflicting the status yourself and don't have toxic spikes up
