Right about Dragon not being one of the best offensive types, though. It's very mediocre. It offers decent neutral coverage but is bad against Steel and Fairy on its own. Most Dragons have a movepool to cover those bases, but as an offensive type Dragon is not great. Dragons just tend to have great stats and high power moves, since most of them have 120+ in at least one attacking stat and access to Draco Meteor and/or Outrage, not to mention Dragon Dance which is one of the best boosting moves in the game.
Dragon is a better defensive type than it is an offensive type, really.
