Let's say that Gamefreak has decided to bring Slaking's BST down to 600 and give him a different ability to compensate for the lowered BST.

How would you stat him, and what ability would you give him? Please keep it reasonable.

Why bother bringing its BST down? It's not like it'd be incredibly broken or anything like it would have been originally in gen III, just give it Vital Spirit.

Normal is on par with dragon in terms of offence, megamom proved that. Slaking has god tier coverage, recovery, boosting and 100 fucking speed.

It would be broken as shit.

Remember this is a pokemon with 160 attack, passable speed and good natural bulk, if it didn't have its ability hindering it then it would easily be seen in OU more, depending on the ability we're replacing it with of course.

Slaking wouldn't be broken with a normal ability as he is now. He's pretty shit. Mono Normal that's ironically outdamaged by a lot of pokemon because damage modifiers are more important than raw stats.

it has roughly the same special bulk as dusknoir, who resides in NU outclassed by its own prevo. Who is also NU even with the additional eviolite boost.

Shave 20 off of all stats except speed. Make his ability Klutz so he can't be screwed by trick/switcheroo. Hidden Ability is Scrappy.

Oh, I also like the irony of how sableye is the only pokemon with stall, which makes it move last, but also got prankster which makes it move first. It's like gamefreak was really scared that a pokemon with no weaknesses would be broken, so they gave it a hindering ability, then realized that it needed an OP ability to make it usable
