Cubone should really have been a one-off pokemon. It was created with the Marowak ghost storyline in mind in RBY. Again, created before the popularity of pokemon when Eggs didn't exist.

If you want to dispute anything, dispute Ghosts. As in, the whole Ghost-type itself. Why can Ghosts evolve? Why can Ghosts breed and have eggs? It doesn't make any sense.

Anyway, it's just a dumb kids game with no strong logic, so don't overthink it. It wasn't designed to be logic-proof.

To overyone complaining about Pokemon wearing clothes - Pokemon AREN'T wearing any clothes. Let me explain.

Humans learn pretty much everything they know from Pokemon, it is said and implied almost all the time. The same applies to clothing. Pokemon like Hitmonchan doesn't have boxing gloves. It has special protective layer around its hand that human saw and adapted it to their needs, creating the boxing gloves. Same applies to every other piece of clothing pokemon apparently have.

It's been implied that Pokemon don't even lay the eggs. They just pop into existence somehow. One of the NPCs even points out that Pokemon eggs don't even serve the function of normal eggs.
