It's great because you don't know what the last coverage move on it is.

I run EQ on mine for Magnezone and Heatran, since I have a Magnezone of my own to handle the other Steels it has trouble with (who hilariously come out as soon as they see the EQ, on Sceptile, and unless they have a Shed Shell or pull a double they're ended by Magnezone).

He's the only Pokemon in the game that can run an Adamant Swords Dance set and still outrun just about everything. In one turn he can 700 Attack and only fears being outrun by Mega Gengar, Aerodactyl, and Mega Manectric.

Leaf Blade, Dragon Claw and EQ gives it just about perfect coverage, only walled by Togekiss, Skarmory, Whimsicott and Shedinja. Leaf Blade has a high crit rate too so even things that should be able to take a hit will sometimes just explode.

On the other hand, while he has a much higher Base 145 Special Attack, his only really strong special move is Leaf Storm, which neuters him after one use, and then he's stuck with Dragon Pulse and a Hidden Power and no way to boost his Special Attack.

Physical Sceptile > Special Sceptile easily for me.

Special sets are stupidly good on Mega Sceptile. You're wasting so much of its potential trying to run a crappy Swords Dance set.

Perfect coverage? What are you going to do against Ferrothorn? Mega Venusaur? Scarf Landorus-T? Clefable? Talonflame?

Sceptile gets some flying type moves that can wreck Venusaur. It's great with Acrobatics but M-Sceptile isn't doing anything with it.

Sceptile was always a hard sell for me in Ruby/Sapphire because of its shitty coverage. So many of the pokemon in Hoenn resist grass. Hope you enjoy grinding on Wailmer and Sharpedo!
