People don't buy games for the small features and details like berry tags, or pokedex entries, or the scale in the pokedex that could launch you into the air if the pokemon was heavy enough, or the papers on the desk in cinnabar masion

They buy games for big, flashy features that they can see up-front. Features that can be marketed effectively. Pokemon Amie. Mega Evolutions. 3D. Flying over the region. That's why GF is focusing on those features and forgetting about details, because Pokemon is a yearly release now so they need to rush games out faster and market more effectively to get people to buy their games more often.

I see no source of this.

Besides, contests are there, so is the safari zone for sure. Following pokemon was... it wasn't one of my favourite features.

Events have come back, or haven't you seen the mini cutscene for diancie and the 'mirage spots', and as for the postgame, there is a BGM for the battle frontier in the demo.

Play testers don't just play the game normally you know, they have to keep an eye out for this shit and purposely try and glitch it so they can fix it depending on how difficult it is to do.
That's how it used to be at least, now people can put out a glitchy game and fix it later with patches.

I hate that they took out Seasons, it seems like an aesthetic that makes sense just like day and night time which they took out of gen 3

Sure they might no longer change your encounters based on time in the newer games but I'm still glad it's not completetly removed

Eh, it was neat having different Pokemon showing up at different times but it was pretty tedious having an arbitrary wait time for it. It's probably why they've stopped doing it.

Ultimately it was a neat but flawed gimmick.

Only games that do it well are few, Bravely Default did it pretty well.

Probably all the islands and caves in R/S/E. Left a whole lot to do after you beat the game, especially in emerald.

You can soar over the whole map on Latios/Latias and land in new places that weren't accessible otherwise. If that isn't actual exploring in a Pokemon game I don't know what is.
