Since they decided not to have a midnight release for Smash despite having triple the needed preorders, I'm gonna assume Pokemon's suffering the same fate.

You can ask if you can pick up Pokemon at midnight anyway.

My gamestop was doing a midnight release for Assassin Creed, and I asked if I could pick up Tales of Hearts r (which I regret playing), which was releasing the next day. Since midnight is the official release date, they allowed it.

Literally ever GAME in Britain is like this too.
The day Smash 3DS came out there was like 15 people outside my local one, 10 of which were getting Smash. When the guy opened the door he commented about the day's new releases, but didn't mention Smash. When I said it he fell dead silent.
