Anyone think this is how they're going to incorporate the Emerald storyline? They could block you from catching the version mascot right away ala Black/White Kyurem. You fight the opposite team in the post-game as they revive their legend. Both legends meet up, Primal Revert, and duke it out. This makes Rayquaza come out to settle the feud.

I'm really not sure what this all means, but this would be my guess.

I got a shiny Gengar code for my brother, and didn't redeem it soon enough, because I found out on the 7th of November that the code expired on the 5th of November. So not only are the serial codes total bullshit and inconvenient (and also, EB Games ran out of them in most places, if not all, here in New Zealand), but they have a fucking expiry date. WHAT THE HELL.

Lysandre dying only happens in Y, and even then it's not explicit and there's evidence to hint he actually survived. Considering how the protag and rivals somehow escape the base it's entirely possible the rest of Flare escaped too. The old man is an extremely minor NPC and never directly stated to have died. The deaths of the Pokemon occur in the backstory and they are not major characters.

This is a Pokemon game. It can get dark sometimes sure, but there's almost no chance Archie and Maxie - who are major characters and portrayed pretty sympathetically (at least in RSE, I'm assuming it will be the same in the remakes) for villains - are going to die, and there's nothing in the dialogue that implies it. Especially since they get off just fine in the original games. ORAS is changing things up, but I doubt they would revise their fates so drastically.
