You can catch Darkrai without an event by doing the tweaking glitch in Diamond and Pearl. It's the same with Shaymin, you can't catch him without an event either.

It is kinda bullshit that they have the plates in every game and access to Shaymin's forme changer but they don't actually put them in the game. I'd prefer the elemental gems over the plates honestly.

They also have the meteorites in every game for changing Deoxys's formes, the move tutor for Keldeo and Meloetta's secret moves, the guy who gives you the 4 Genesect drives, etc.

Fans will complain if these things aren't included in every game from here on out. DNA Splicers, Reveal Glass, Gracidea, the 18 Plates, the 4 Drives, Adamant/Lustrous/Griseous Orbs, the Meteorites, all of these things are guaranteed to stay

They can't remove the orbs, ever. Griseous Orb is necessary for Origin Forme Giratina. They can't remove that then by default, and if they remove the other two it'll look odd. I doubt they'll ever do it. They only removed Soul Dew because 1) it was completely broken and 2) they have shiny new Latiasite and Latiosite to replace it.
