Suggestion! The Pokemon world goes back to 2D with minor 3D effects (Like Fire Emblem: Awakening. Four Swords Adventures, etcetc.) and the battles remain in the full 3D glory they've had since XY.

yay or nay? why?

Personally, I'd much rather have a 2D overworld, it feels like XY took away some of the Pokemon-world feeling with the 3D. The 3D doesn't even look that good quality-wise simply because of the 3DS hardware. (battles are an exception)
