>+1 252+ Atk Aerilate Mega Salamence Return vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Mamoswine: 354-417 (83.8 - 98.8%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
Ice-types aren't doing shit. The closest thing Mega Salamecne has to a counter is Porygon2 and Rhyperior. And even then, Porygon2 needs to be at 80+ HP to take a +1 Return or Thrash and Rhyperior has to watch is ass for Hydro Pump or Draco Meteor. You can revenge-kill it, absolutely but even if all is right in the world, the mother fucker could just smell that Choice Scarf for how boldly you brought the Pokemon in and just switch out.
There are 4 Mega Salamence:
>DD with EQ, Fire Blast and Return
>SubDD with Refresh and Roost
>DD Facade
>Hyper Voice, Hydro Pump, Fire Blast and Draco Meteor
And the best part is that they are all entirely interchangeable.
You can't even CHECK all of those sets. You can say Rotom, but Substitute says otherwise. At least one variant of Mega Salamence is going to fuck you sideways no matter what you do and the others may be manageable for your team, but manageable is just a funny way of saying "if he predicts this switch, I am fucked."
>Mega Salamence unboosted is a Parental Bond Talonflame with Lugias defense, Alakazams speed, and Shaymin-S strapped to its back for Sp.Atk support. Oh and it's fucking Dragon type.
No, seriously.
