The Dutch site literally tells you "good luck getting an eon ticket, you should probably go to pokemon related events if you wish you get one." Fucking hacks aren't even going to release the thing, just hope it works out well enough for the ticket to find its way from the UK to the Netherlands.

Pretty disappointed it's just a prize draw though. Given that at least half the people I know with 3DSs don't even use streetpass, I'd hoped it would involve some kind of "why should you be considered?" to stop people just having a free weekend in London and then not spreading the ticket.

I guess they're just wanting you to travel to a VGC event, where you're sure to get it.
Not sure why though, they don't directly make any money from VGC events, and there must be more efficient advertising schemes.

It seems unlikely that they'll pick Londoners as the starting point of the distribution event is at GAME in Westfield, Stratford City.
I'm curious about the access to the event and whether they will allow everyone into the store or if only the winners will be able to go in and see Masuda.

The event takes place on Saturday the 29th. The winners pick up the ticket in the morning and go out to spread it in the afternoon. You're right, it's going to be hectic there. I'll still try and go but if I can't get in at least I can pick up the ticket easily enough another day.

No, it's all streetpass stuff so the winner needs to be there. They only inform the winner that they've won by email and a phonecall. The winner then travels to London (I think the organisers pay for that) from the destination the winner chose, go to the place the event is held, pick up the streetpass of the Eon Ticket and then go to the GAME store in the destination they chose and give the streetpass to the store. That's where they get their additional prizes too.

Read the T&C. They pay for train tickets (there and back), a night at a 4*+ hotel, evening and breakfast meals and then go with you to the GAME event back in your home town.

Rename your router to nintendospotass5 and remove security (it's probably better to do it on something like a smartphone than on your home network for obvious reasons), and any 3DSs nearby will think it's one of the hotspots Nintendo sets up.
