The problem is that /v/ has got this "drinking tears" ebin maymay culture thing going on right now, where they produce a metric shitload of threads about how happy they'll be if so-and-so random person doesn't get what they wanted in a video game, and it spilled over into /vp/. It's just another turd to add to the already massive pile of shit that board's become. I don't want the same to happen here.

Really though, deleting /v/ would be a disaster. So would deleting /vp/ for that matter. The first would lead to an absence of any kind of generalized video game discussion board (which would be ridiculous), and the latter would lead to a billion Pokemon threads on /v/.
