Yes although it isn't enough to make it S-Rank since it can miss at the moment it has to hit and price for missing is pretty heavy. Getting Hone Claws might fix that issue

Isn't the Battle Frontier going to return soon? Emerald's Battle Frontier had the Mega Punch/Kick tutors as prizes. Maybe they might bring them back in ORAS give it to a bunch of Normal types that could use it.

Honestly the only sets which are gonna standout early on are HJK, Return, IceP and BP/DrainP/Healing Wish
or Sub-Punch with Baton Pass and Return or Encore.
Nothing else it has is really standing out

Mega Lopunny is turning out to be my favourite mega of the bunch. It's the only Sinnoh Mega that's not shit or Banned. It's got a great un-resisted typing. And it's got the stats and ability to make it viable.

Like, M-Lopunny, M-Metagross, M-Gallade, and Mega Salamence all commonly running around the format would give less reason for Mega Kangaskhan to be banned or something

Hell with Salamence carrying Fire Blast and M-Lopunny looking like it was made specifically to check Aegislash, it just feels like the only commonly played 1v1 six-Pokemon format isn't actually going to be nearly as edited by the new megas as Gamefreak was hoping to "patch" the metagame with.

Sacred Sword isn't a OHKO though if you're running standard Aegislash (which is Specially Offensive with Shadow Sneak and Sacred Sword).

Even Attack+ Aegislash aren't able to get a guaranteed OHKO without boosting.

252+ Atk Aegislash-Blade Sacred Sword vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Lopunny: 252-298 (92.9 - 109.9%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

I mean, it's a good chance, but M-Lopunny can just fuck you up the ass before you even move in to kill it.

Lopunny isn't 100% safe (ONLY if the Aegislash is physical actually, special Aegislash gets checked even harder since it can't OHKO with sacred sword)
If you use king's shield, there's a 50% chance it'll work, and a 50% chance you'll get encore'd, and then lose 100% or switch out.

If you attack with sacred sword and try to kill it from shield form, you risk getting OHKO'd while being outsped, or you counter their encore with an attacking move.

But the problem with that is also you're much more likely to attack when in shield form and you're much more likely to king's shield if you're in exposed attack form, this puts Aegislash at a disadvantage when it comes to prediction against a Lopunny user.

The whole thing ends up being the entire "it's not a counter, it's a check" argument which got Aegislash banned in the first place
