the eevee became an umbreon eventually, grovile to septile, zorua to zoroark. basically they did get evolved it just took me some time.

Smogon's rules are flawed and some of their bans are questionable and most of their communist is full of aspie permavirgins, but the tier set-up is actually beneficial if you want to use your less than viable bros in a setting that would make it easier to. I didn't say that Smogon isn't worthy of contempt in some cases, but they certainly make it so I could use my NU bros without constantly being shit on by OU: The Team.

This is great way to lose. It's fine to build a team around one or two of your favorites, but if you're choosing all six just based on how much you like them, you end up with a shitty team. And some pokemon just can't function. Like I do like Vespiquen, but there's simply no way it can ever be useful if my goal is to win.

trick room singles is really tricky see what I did there? but it's what I like to do. Granted priority this gen hurt but you can take advantage of that (like rhyperior with Weakness policy, he's weak to like every priority move but can take it, people activate it all the time) and I can't say enough about just straight up choice specs exploud. And I always keep around reuniclus for stall but sometimes it isn't enough

Have you tried UU? I heard this less priority there. I don't run UU too much and with I never tried it with my trick room team full of some of my bros since Showdown deleted all my teams.

But if doubles actually had people still play it I'd totally recommend giving it a try. Especially shit like putting haze on a bulky Cofagrigus which got rid of those ability swapping stat boosters.

UU is a great tier for trick room, but it's also a fucking palace of stall. Generally OU is a bit better for that and I'm more likely to run into hyper offense. Hyper offense has real trouble with trick room.
