Gengar and Snorlax are good in most generations. Cloyster and Zapdos are slightly worse but runnable. The other two get worse the later you get, especially when actually useful bug type moves come into play.

1st gen woudl be mediocre, no alakazam but atleast you have exeggutor and snorlax
2nd gen is solid, you have snorlax
3rd gen woudl struggle
4th gen would still struggle but at least gengar is usable
5th cloyster is now usable, exeggutor gets harvest
6th worse than 5th, cloyster isnt top tier anymore, team is good if gengar is mega but has trouble pulling the team probably

Zapdos is arguably the second best in Gen 2, after Snorlax, and Gengar, Cloyster and Exeggutor are all solid options.
In Gen 1, the team seems decent except for the fact that Starmie fucks you sideways.
Can't speak for the later generations, but I believe the team peaks in Gen 2 and then just gets worse over time.
