There's rarely ever a good reason, if one even exists, when it's been done in the Western videogame industry. It's usually done because the developer/publisher does not have much confidence in the game, so keeps reviews unavailable as long as possible so people will buy the games on release/preorder without realizing something is terribly wrong with the game. It's not a guaranteed sign of shit, but it's not really a sign of anything else.
That said, GF is so pants on heard crazy sometimes I wouldn't put it past them to actually block review of good content because of some weird reason. Most of the reviewers seem to think the post game, which they can't talk about, is good. After all, the rest of the game is review embargo free.
But then again, what reviewers think is good postgame and what veteran players consider good postgame in Pokemon is rather different.
So we'll see.
