It's an actual remake of R/S rather than Emerald.

Rather than implementing the gameplay features that made Emerald better than R/S, they've dropped them and focused on more STORY shit.

The Post Game is XY tier which means most people are just going to power through the story once get all the Mega Stones, and then move back to Showdown.

Come on, nostalgia's one thing but being in denial isn't healthy at all.
They're the most forgettable and lackluster regions to date the only redeemable features for 2 is breeding, which might I add was only really refined in gen 6, and the special split. 4 only has wifi and the physical/special split and wifi was an inevitability.
Everything else is either meaningless aesthetics or broken at the time.

X/Y were pretty much the point where I stopped caring about the games themselves. They really need to change it up somehow since the single player is stale as fuck at this point.

Still gonna play on simulators though. Thank goodness we live in an age where you can access simulators conveniently in a browser.

Yeah, if you joined /vp/ last year.
Most people that didn't succumb to peer pressure were psyched, so to speak, about those games for a very good reason. To this day, it's one of the most vivid and diverse regions and it introduced a new format of battling which is now the preferred format. It was also the first pokemon game to have a somewhat decent story as well.
