Gen 2 introduced much more features than gen 3 did.

Infact gen 3 straight out REMOVED features that gen 2 had - like day&night and headbutt trees.

Hey, I got started with Yellow, and I still say HGSS were the best games ever released.
The addition of double battles and individual menu sprites for all the pokemon may have been nice, but Gen 3 really wasn't as good as any of the others.

Gen 5 is the best gen, imo. Great city music, great team theme, fucking amazing ending theme...

Also, village bridge and those instruments were great. Post-game was meh, but B2W2 fix that and the sheer novelty of going through a region with nearly 150 fucking brand new Pokemon was great.

I'm actually very regretful to be a Hoennfag. This was the one game I wanted GameFreak to succeed in, and what do they do? Cut out half the quantifiable features and throw in some cheap new ones that will never surface in later gens. To even know the damned Pokéblock mixing minigames stayed the same, that would be enough for me. But no, they're gone too, just like all the other classic elements GameFreak couldn't be bothered to rendition. It's a bona-fide disgrace.
