So, went to play my 3ds XL last night (because ORAS Hype) and I found that it won't turn on.

Do you guys think you can help me figure out what's wrong with it?

When I put it on charge, the charging light will come on, but it won't charge/turn on.

Help me out please, I need to figure this out before ORAS!!

I had this problem once. All I did for it to work again was opening the back panel with a screwdriver, I cleared a bit of dust (softly) and let it open for about an hour. Afterwards, it worked just fine

Did you spill water on it?

Sounds like something is shorted, or the screen went out somehow.

You probably dropped it one too many times. That or the battery is dead. Try a different battery.

It's most likely the battery. If you're too rough with your 3ds the battery can unsocket itself. nintendo has a tutorial on how to put back the battery in place on their website just google it m8.

a friend had a similar problem
aparently because the 3ds uncharged "too much"
leave it for a while charging, if the light turn on its charging
then remove it, let it cool
then try booting again

his ds came back to life 3 months later for no reason
