Hydreigon's line were originally going to be dragon/steel types and be based on tanks. They decided to go with Dragon/dark and make it a hydra instead. The marks on Hydreigon's belly are a reference to tank treads.

A lot of people think a mega that brings that back would be cool.

I know it's petty.

Legs and lower torso become bulkier, its no longer leaning on the concrete pillars, instead it has one huge pillar that is slung over its shoulders.

Gains a move that functions like Wood hammer, but is rock type. Move would have to have moderately low pp to keep from being broken as shit since rock is such a good attacking type.

Gets a new move: Pharaoh's Curse - Ghost/Special, 80BP. Drains 75% of the damage dealt (basically, a ghost type Oblivion Wing).
Walls almost any physical attacker with a combo of WoW, Haze, Pain Split and this draining move. Pair it with a Water/Fighting type like Keldeo or Poliwrath (for Taunt users and dark types) and you have a virtually unbreakable physical core.
