ITT: Disappointed people

Anyone else feel really disappointed by ORAS? No new megas is sad, and it feels like it's all flashy and nice but no substance. Hell, reviews have agreed, XY is better.

I never got a pre-order, and I'm not even sure if I'm gonna pick it up. And I got icing in cake, since I won't be able to get it until 28th.

Yeah, the main story is fun and all, but post-game is where people will spend most of their time unless they are casuals. A BF would have been a great motivation to breed and stuff, or at least they could have added extra routes or something

I don't care about the number, it's the selection that is terrible. I don't mind the Pokemon that did get megas but it's pretty fucking odd that a vast majority of Hoenn Pokemon have been neglected in the fucking Hoenn remake.

I was already disappointed in Pokemon after XY but looked forward to ORAS cause I barely played the original and spent shitloads of hours in the Platinum Frontier.

Now there's no Frontier, the XY engine has seen no improvements and my bro Feraligatr didn't get a mega. Oh well.

This is actually a good fucking point, I myself want more gen 5 megas above all, but this is still a Hoenn remake. Why wouldn't Hoenn Pokemon get precedence?

You know how they could have done to fixed this? Save all the Hoenn megas that were in XY for ORAS. Done.

Stop it with this bullshit, megas are an entirely new mechanic, you can't compare it to forme changes, which were reserved for Legendaries and a few gimmick shitmons.

If they're going to pimp this concept out they might as well do it right and not reveal everything, jesus christ. And if we're going to follow your stupid line of logic, why does XY have around 30 while ORAS is much less?

I actually looked at Pidgeot for doubles before. But since it would have been in a rain team, it would have 100% Hurricanes most of the time anyway, so little gain.

Mysterious new Megas were the big gimmick for X and Y because it was a new mechanic. Now we're a year in, everyone knows about it, so the selling point is "hey, here are all these NEW Megas you can use."

Revealing them early didn't deprive you of any content, they just told you what you were getting beforehand.

The Battle Frontier though, this is killing me. I really wanted to put a lot of time into ORAS, but I'm going to get fairly bored and lost motivation for postgame with no BF.

What the hell is wrong with you people. ORAS has by far the most new content out of any remake so far. Redesigned and revamped characters who were made more interesting, main story slightly altered in some places, completely new post game story, a ton of legendaries added, new Megas - HGSS & FRLG pale in comparison with regards to new stuff.

And people who say there's no postgame, have you looked at even one ORAS review? Not only are you bitching about a game you've never played, you're complaining about an aspect nearly everyone who has played the game through says is fantastic. You're just making shit up to complain about at this point. It's pathetic.

Reviews have mentioned things that are seemingly waiting to happen, an old man waiting for a door to unlock, a hotel that is soon to open, etc.

This would be a perfect use of that feature that was in the demo, the one that made Steven's house accessible after a certain number of days, or let you do the nugget mission? Why would they show that off in the demo and then NEVER put it in the full game? The closest the games have ever come to using a mechanic like this was in the LAST remakes, where Pokemon wouldn't be available in the Safari until a certain number of days passed.

I'm still a bit nervous, of course. Ruby and Sapphire themselves weren't exactly what you'd call the best Pokemon games. Quite frankly I was baffled by all the hype to start with. "YES WE GET TO GO TO THE BEST REGION!"

Sales for Gen III were shit, and I recall many people complaining about Hoenn, and its Pokemon. There were complaints about the font, complaints about the lack of day/night (mostly by me) and the low quality of the PokeNav compared to the PokeGear (also me).

The fonts are better, we get nighttime, and we get a TV. Except for Match Call, I've seen everything to suggest my requirements have been filled. I don't think it'll be as good as HeartGold and SoulSilver. But I don't think it'll be as bad as Ruby and Sapphire. And that gives me hope.

Did they pick random Pokemon out of a hat? Why couldn't Golem and Machamp get megas? Why not the Johto Starters? All of those were in RSE! Fucking Beedrill (actually my favorite mega to be honest)? Fucking Pidgeot?
