So what does this mean for the NPC that supposedly says "the battle frontier is being built"?

Gen 2 had a battle tower.
Gen 3 had the battle frontier.
Gen 4 had a battle tower (D/P) but then a reincarnation of the battle frontier.
Gen 5 had the Battle Subway (BW1) and then the Pokemon World Championship thing (BW2)
Gen 6 had a battle tower clone.
ORAS has a battle tower clone.

Either Gamefreak has gotten lazier for no explicable reason, or there's something else to come.
