For those of you going to the midnight release here's a friendly little reminder:
I'm sure many of you are just as excited as I am to finally get our hands on ORAS, and i know a lot of you will be going to the midnight release. However, based on past experiences with midnight releases, I would like to being up a few minor things that you as an individual can do to make the experience more enjoyable for everybody.
Please remember to take care of yourself and your personal hygiene before arriving to wait in line. I only bring this up because last year during the pokemon X/Y release and back in may for mario kart 8 I noticed many people had very strong body odor and overall didn't smell very good. Having to wait in line with someone who smells like that is not enjoyable and can be easily avoided.
So please, before you come to wait in line: take a shower, put on deodorant, and change into clean clothes. Just because you don't necessarily think you smell bad, doesn't mean other people think the same.
The second thing I would like to bring up is be mindful of your staring. Back in may for the mario kart 8 release I brought my wife to wait in line with me. Most of the people there were respectful and polite, but about 6 or 7 guys were staring at her constantly over the course of an hour. I didn't notice it myself until she told me because she was getting uncomfortable.
remember people will notice you're staring at them even if they aren't directly looking at you, they can tell. Im not saying don't look at other people at all, but just be considerate of their feelings with how long and how often you stare at them so you don't make them uncomfortable.
I know to many of you this is already common knowledge but there are some who may not realize they are making the midnight release experience less than enjoyable for people and I just hope this PSA helps. Now that I've got this out of the way, lets all enjoy ORAS tomorrow!
