Honestly, Battle Frontier as DLC is fine; the majority of people who play Pokemon don't bother with Tower/Frontier so leaving it out for now to speed up development is fine with me.
As long as it's free DLC.

If it was only one brief reference, like just the tower model, I would think it as just an easter egg. Sort of like the Royal Unova mention

There are like five references to it. The brain music, the tower model, the talent scout, Lucy appearing, and Brandon with Volcanion. That is way beyond just a simple easter egg.

It might not be until the next game but it's coming somewhere, sometime.

Exactly. If they were referencing it, they would have just put the model of the tower with a simple message that doesn't outright say what it is or where it came from.

It is strange that they outright say what it is, where it came from and that it is "coming soon".

Yeah but since all the other legendaries can literally be caught in basic Pokeballs with no hassle and you're handed a Master Ball right before you fight Deoxys and he's a mandatory part of the story, he might as well not have a catch rate. He's just handed to you like the rest, no exploring to find him yourself or anything.

Yeah a gameboy game that's been analyzed and perfected through years of community cooperation has a short time. For comparison's sake, the current Heart Gold/Soul Silver speedrun is about 4 hours and that's a routed run. This was a FIRST run and it was 4 hours. Pathetic.

Glitchless WR is around 1:50 last I heard. The only good gen 1 category is glitchless any%.

Usually when Gamefreak removes something entirely they don't bother having characters talk about it ingame. 3rd version of ORAS is unlikely since Episode Waifubait already gives Rayquayza plot relevance and I doubt it'll be in a new Kalos game since they are specifically saying and showing that its being built in Hoenn.

But who's to say we can't get more megas included in the Battle Frontier DLC? It's unlikely, but if they're going to add an entire fucking postame region (I think the BF counts as a region), then more mega stone is pretty petty in comparison.

Could just be them establishing the timeline. This game takes place before Emerald, and so that's why the Battle Frontier isn't finished.
