The thing about DLC is that it's not out of the question if they add new megas. I mean fuck, new megas would be a pretty small addition compared to a huge region adding seven different battle facilities.

ORAS is already better than most games in the series, the only thing holding it back from being untouchable elder god GOTYAY tier is not having the Battle Frontier really.

Basically just fill the 'dex with a few Pokémon from other regions like the Houndour line, the Shellos line and the Bellsprout line and you can expand the trainer's teams from there.
Even then, without expanding the Pokédex, Magma/Aqua could've used the Trapinch and Horsea lines respectively and it would've helped them immensely.

Apart from that, nothing else comes to mind. The games look pretty damn good and I've very happy.

Battle Frontier of course. Beyond that Delta Episode and maybe a Sevii Islands-esque small region to explore would be perfect for me as far as postgame, including all the legendaries we can catch.

I'll be incredibly happy with just finding a handful of unreleased Mega stones.

I meant the whole lines. Have Magma grunts using the occasional Trapinch and Vibrava, and Aqua grunts using Horsea and Seadra. Then have Maxie and Archie using Flygon and Kingdra.

It was just an example anyway, ideally they'd be making use of every Pokémon available in Hoenn to up the variety being used by the Magma/Aqua.
But nope, more Mightyena.
