fr/lg had only kanto mons too, hg/ss had only kanto and johto mons too (plus the new evolutions at the time), this time we got surprise surprise the exact same thing as in the other remakes
the idea is that you're playing on a region that only has these mons, but others later become unlocked
just trade what you want to play with if you want it so bad, you dolt
