So I remember that a while back there was a lot of hype for this on the internet but a few days ago there was a lot of backlash for some reason

What happened? Did they remove a feature or were there some stupid decisions on gamefreak's part?

They removed one of the single most anticipated postgame features. Instead of a Battle Frontier we literally have a copypasted Battle Maison and what may or may not be a hint towards incoming DLC. Only Gamefreak is incompetent enough to design a remake that's inferior to a game they made ten years before!

It never was in Ruby or Sapphire period. Nothing has been removed. This isn't up for debate. This isn't a removed feature. These aren't Emerald Remakes.

To expand on this, even though HGSS technically had a Battle Frontier, it was just c/p'd from Platinum. Battle Maison is c/p'd from XY. I think they're both guilty, and both are still great entries in the series nonetheless. Which is "best" is probably just influenced by nostalgic bias and personal preference, but I'll just play them both and enjoy the hell out of them.

I also can't stand some of the megas. Mega rayquaza mega audino mega buneary just to name a few.

Also the connection to Kalos or whatever turns me away. It was a bad, half assed region. Stop promoting it.

The redeming qualities for me though are:
Favorite region, favorite pokemon, favorite team (aqua), and overall the good graphics.

im really excited about contests which i loved back in R/S and also looking forward to trying secret base.
i never did play emerald and i would have liked to try it out BF but i havent given up hope yet, although from reading online about it BF just looks like alot of gimmicky battles.

They took out a major chunk of postgame and past features that players enjoyed in previous remakes and threw them in the shitter. Disappointment because players expected them to build on top of previous remakes, when they went a step backwards. The main game itself is still alright though

Maybe because it's not the best thing? The whole gen is great. I don't know about you, but I am fucking happy with ORAS because it is Hoenn in 3D with all the online features, new pokémons, megas, super secret bases, contests and all the good stuff. I honestly can't say the game is shit and it's not worth buying.

People are too negative about the lack of BF yetand they're not seeing the great things ORAS have.

That is bad, but they did try and improve Mauville to make up for that. Can't have gambling anymore. I don't know. I'm not mad over that.

There are new Islands though. Then these is Sea Mauville, and they expanded upon Mauville. And you get to go to Space. So there is new content.

Same gen. They don't do major overhauls same gen. Sucks I'll give you that, but not really something you should have expected GF to change.
