I'm not defending anything, I'm just saying. The reason people are so buttblasted by ORAS is because they were assuming a lot of things about it. People ASSUMED Emerald features would be in ORAS because HGSS had Crystal features. People ASSUMED the postgame would be phenomenal because XY's was so lackluster.

Go by what you know, leave your assumptions at the door, and you might just actually end up having a pleasant experience.

It's not unreasonable to expect Game Freak to maintain high standards, or perhaps to exceed them.

It's not unreasonable to feel let down when remakes that are effectively 12 years in the making end up as mere reskins when we could have gotten something great, akin to FRLG. It's hard to believe this is even the same company anymore.

An experience that does not feel incomplete in comparison to a similar product.

HGSS felt like what a 2nd Gen Game being brought to the 4th Gen should be like.

ORAS does not feel like what a 3rd Gen Game being brought to the 6th Gen should feel like.

idk, a lot of people are saying that the ability to rematch them is in the game.
Someone also pointed out on /r/Pokemon that each of the Gym Leaders -on their 4th rematch- had one pokemon each that can MegaEvolve now.

Not necessarily, the last few generation of Pokemon games, including ORAS, have launched with B1G1/2 off sales. Even Nintendo knows these games aren't worth $40 anymore
