You can't expect every pokémon being equally good, or even comparatively good. You have:

- single player
- battle maison
- online

and you can play them using:

- 3v3 singles
- 6v6 singles
- doubles
- triples
- rotations

There will be pokémon good in certain battle styles and bad in other. Take Smogon for example. If you ban Stealth Rocks for ever imagine how the list of "good" or "bad" pokémon would change.

There's a place for almost a huge list of pokémon, you just need to find where.

Every Pokemon could be almost equally viable, if GF designed them that way. You're arguing that players must receive inferior products (Pokemon) in order to receive adequate products, that the two are inseparable for no reason at all.

you don't really expect a pokémon being good in EVERYTHING, right? There is no way to make them all viable in all game modes. You are the one being stupid here if you think you can make the 700+ pokémon viable without changing the game's core mechanics.

Tiers are a great example. They constitute a response to the fact that many, many Pokemon are just naturally shitty, without even questioning the notion of why the overwhelming majority of Pokemon are shitty by design in the first place.

Maybe if this was Gen 1 and you were only counting final evolutions despite the fact eviolite exists

There is literally no way, with 718 Pokemon, to make it so that no Pokemon is ever entirely outclassed without outright making it so every single Pokemon isn't just base 600 with 100/100/100/100/100/100 spreads and typings were reworked so that the entire point of something like Wonder Guard existing is now rendered moot

The HP isn't that low.

Honestly, I think Rampardos would be saved if it got a mega that allocated most of the points to its defenses. Then it would be able to take a hit or two.

Farfetch's point is holding "Stick" and doing nothing but criticals

Dusparce is parahax without wasting time on a Jirachi or Togekiss with Air Miss, it's advantage is having 3 different flinch moves and Glare

It has two priority moves. And Mega-Banette has a ton. And it can set up Trick Room, so speed isn't much of an issue.

All main fossils had a set BST of 495 at the time (yeah, I know, you want all pokemon to have the same BST). You seriously don't see why a pokemon that wasn't made to be spectacularly good should have good speed + Sheer Force + Sky-high attack stat + Good coverage?

So many water types are 100% upgrades with every single move Luvdisc gets

With only so many roles you could possibly have, type is a decent distinction.
When you're operating within the same type, there's eventually going to be overlap over which roles more than one Pokemon of a type are doing. You can only have so many dozen Bulky Waters before some are considered outright better than others.

It doesn't help that GF also has this stuff semi-balanced for in-game too, hence babies so you could get earlygame Roselias when it would normally be available around the time your starter is at its second stage.
