The problem is not using a controller, but in using the stylus in your non-dominant hand. If I tried writing with my right hand it'd look as if I'd gone full retard. Literally all they had to do was assign Shield to R and have the ABXY buttons poorly mimic the Circle Pad it would've been infinitely more playable.
