Personally I'm enjoying the Dexnav a lot, 5 hours into the game and just got my first badge and don't regret a minute
I got a BB Taillow, Quick feet + Drain punch Adamant Shroomish and a Timid 3IV/stars Ralts
Next one is Rock head + Head smash Aron and haven't decided last slot yet

Its not that bad.
No Frontier kinda sucks, but most "alive" a pokemon game has felt in a long time, definitely feels more like a proper pokemon game than anything since HGSS, mediocre postgame but tons of content, and cryptic shit like getting Regigigas. Picking Treecko in omega ruby has given me the hardest pokemon experience since platinum, I have whited out a solid 20 times, it took me 2 hours and 6 attempts to get past Wattson. 3 attempts to get past Maxie in Mt. Chimney. The pacing is fantastic compared to XY, the colors and music are vibrant, make XY look like complete shit. The girls in the game are QT as all hell. Tons of little details like faster surfing on sharpedo and kyogre, Dexnav is amazing. They added the option to skip some of the annoying backtracking if you want (I.E. lavaridge -> Petalburg). Mega stones everywhere, so if you want to use a mega during the game, you actually can, unlike in XY where you could only use your Kantopanderingite and Dogdickshoveddownyourthroatite.
